Muireann Ní Shé is an uilleann piper and singer from County Cork. She has been immersed in Irish language, music and song since childhood and her sound resonates with these early experiences. Influenced by local musicians and the archival recordings of legendary musicians and singers, such as Willie Clancy and Elizabeth Cronin, Muireann finds herself drawn to sharing this sound world that dominates her mind. While traditional music shaped her ear, it was in her early twenties, while studying contemporary music, that she began to imagine new sonic possibilities for the pipes. Since then she has continued to delve deep into this exploration through ongoing exciting collaborations with artists such as Róis, Peter Power, Caitríona Frost and Macdara Ó Faoláin.
